About Mettle

Mettle is a Petrichor venture that rebuilds employee onboarding around how the job actually gets done now. It was founded by Gabe Jewell, Phil Rimmler, and Josh Gilliam. The three people who run your Workflow Audit are the same three who built the method.

The founders

Gabe Jewell directed 15 courses at MasterClass and co-founded MT Copeland, a venture-backed learning platform that hit 10 million views. Phil Rimmler spent 13-plus years scaling B2B and B2C startups through the workflow transitions Mettle's clients face, including DUST Identity from Seed to a $45M Series B. Josh Gilliam brings people-enablement execution from Sign In Solutions, the practitioner layer that turns a blueprint into a program managers can run.

What we hold to

Ramp is an EBITDA line, not an HR line. We rebuild the rehearsal of the work rather than shipping a course. The engagement ends with your People function owning a working program, not a retainer.

Frequently asked questions

Who founded Mettle?

What does Mettle do?

Mettle rebuilds the first 30 days of onboarding around how the job actually gets done now, not the workflow from two years ago. The entry engagement is a two-week Workflow Audit that maps the gap between how top performers work and what the training teaches, and sizes the recoverable ramp cost.
